We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Roskyco W. Akins Sr.

Roskyco Sr was born to Jack Akins Sr and Corein Talley-Akins on April 3rd 1960. On October 19th 2022, Roskyco Sr was called home to the Lord after fighting one of the hardest battles he faced in life as he fought, Lung Cancer. It was a hard and challenging fight but that fight wasn’t in vain.  He was able to relocate and reestablish his relations with his children and cope with losing his second wife; Jamie Thomas-Akins to Breast Cancer. Roskyco Sr was the epitome of coming through hard times and though he is gone, he made sure to secure his surroundings before ending this battle; leaving his children and family knowing that they were loved. The day Roskyco Sr returned to Pennsylvania from North Carolina he was welcomed by his children and grandchildren. After a day of enjoying company of his loved ones he expressed to Roskyco Jr of imense joy which made him want to cry. Through his ups and downs with his health, one thing never changed about Roskyco Sr and that was his humor. Roskyco often made jokes with quick witted remarks that brought laughter and smiles to many people.

After moving to Englewood NJ from North Carolina, Roskyco completed high school at Dwight Morrow High he entered into the workforce. After meeting his first wife. He and his family relocated to Minnesota for several years, to then return back to the east coast setting roots in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania in the 90s. Roskyco Sr found a love in driving in the transportation field. After obtaining his CDL, Roskyco Sr worked for several transportation agencies including LANta, Greyhound, Transbridge, and J&J Transportation. Roskyco Sr found solitude in being behind the wheel as he continued to drive as an occupation until he retired.
