Queen Ella (Gross) Inabinett

Queen Ella Inabinett, 93 of Allentown, Pennsylvania transitioned peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She was born January 20, 1932, in Stapleton, Georgia to the late Maria L Hicks and Alonza Gross, Sr.

Queen retired from a Sewing factory where she worked for 13 years. She was a teacher’s aide at Livingston Elementary School for several years. She assisted her brother Phil at Phil’s bar and Grill. Queen also worked with her good friend Leroy Johnson at Leroy Johnson’s Cleaning Service.

Queen was a member of Union Baptist Church for over 50 years and received multiple certificates and honors. In February 2025, Queen received the Loyalty Award for many years of service and support at UBC.  She made sure she made it to church to the extent of walking there at 90+ years old.

Queen loved socializing and knew so many people.  She also enjoyed walking and catching the bus to Hamilton Street where she would meet up with friends for a cup of coffee and a doughnut.

She was preceded in death by parents Maria L Hicks and Alonza Gross, Sr; brothers, Alonza Gross, Jr, Freddie L Gross and daughter, Betty Jean Gross. 

Queen touched the lives of so many. She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Steve Inabinett (Georgina) and Brenda Inabinett; beloved grandchildren, Steven Tabb, Lucious Tabb, Richard Inabinett, Clishaya Rance and Gabriel Walton; siblings, Phill Gross, Sr, Jerry Gross, Donnie Robison, and Alvitta Mack and a host of nieces, and nephews.
