Marion (Pratt) Peterson

Marion Pratt Peterson, affectionately called "Beef" by family and close friends was called home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2020. She was the eight of nine childrenborn to King Soloman and Pearlie B. (Grays) Pratt on December 14, 1953 in Easton, PA. She accepted the Lord at an early ageand attended Union A.M.E. Church in Easton prior to moving to New Jersey.

Marion was a graduate of Easton Area High School, Easton, PA, Class of 1971. She later attended Middlesex Community College School of Business.

She led a stellar career which started while a student in high school working part time at Sigals,a fashionable woman's clothing store in Easton. Marion was always sharp with numbers and calculations. Following high school, she held various positions at Hoffman LaRoche, located in Belvedere, NJ, and AT&T in Basking Ridge, NJ, before joining ConocoPhillips in Linden, NJ, in 1994. She retired from ConocoPhillips in 2019 following 24 years of dedicated service.

Marion's buoyant personality granted her many friends and longtime friendships. She loved to travel and enjoyed music and dining out. Family gatherings, especially during the holidays were among her favorite times.Her yearly ritual consisted of baking homemade cookies and treats for everyone. She was also known for her classic sour cream walnut pound cake and peach cobblers.

Marion led an optimistic lifestyle and endured many lucky streaks along the way. One of which was a lottery winning a BMW convertible automobile. She frequently traveled to Atlantic City and hit big on slot machines on numerous occasions.

Marion had one child, Elisha Peterson from her union with Archie Peterson.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her daughter Elisha Renee Peterson-Williams (Clifton) of Phillipsburg, NJ; five grandchildren, Clifton Laron Williams, Jr., Sunshine Renee Williams of Phillipsburg, NJ, Sasha TenePeterson of Lawrenceville, GA, Azgene Ariel Sconiers of Newnan, GA and Kwon Anthony Sconiers stationed in Norfolk, VA; three great grandchildren, Noah David Peterson, Giovanni Caleb Oglesby, Malachi RusselPeterson Saunders; siblings, Eunice Pratt of Lawnside, NJ, Soloman Pratt (Jean) of Easton, PA, Thelma J. Moon (John) of Somerset, NJ, Willie Pratt (Jeanette), Alonzo Pratt, Arnold Prattof Easton, PA, and Robert Pratt (Janet)of Allentown, PA and a host of cousins, family, and friends. Marion was predeceased by her parents , Pearl and Soloman Pratt; brother, Nathaniel (Nay) Pratt and former husband Archie Peterson
