Lillian Grace (Leggett) Bell

Lillian Grace Bell, of Bethlehem passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at age 95. She was born in Fayetteville, NC to the late James and Salena (Evans) Leggett.

During her working years, Lillian’s main occupation was that of housekeeper. She also held various factory positions. When not at work, Lillian was loving and caring for her family and home. In her younger years, she liked to cook, can foods, tend to the garden, and make lye soap for laundry tasks.

Lillian was a member of Union Baptist Church for close to 50 years. She sang in the gospel chorus and served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee when the late Dr. Horace A. Melton was Pastor.

Lillian is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Allen and Anita Paige; son, John Mitchell (Sally); three grandchildren, Stephanie and Jamie Mitchell, and Alexander Rich, Jr. (Ronaisha); one great grandchild, Aria Rich; nieces, nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Edward Bell, daughter Gwendolyn Rich, sons, Edward, Walter, Richard, and Jule, sons-in-law, Melvin Allen and Alexander Rich, Sr.; four siblings, their spouses and other relatives.
