Joseph C. Middleton, 74, of Allentown, PA, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospice.
Born in Bamberg, South Carolina, Joseph was the beloved son of the late Herbert and Eugenia Middleton. He was educated in the Allentown School District before proudly serving his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1970.
Following his military service, Joseph built a longstanding career with Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies.
Known for his quiet strength and deep appreciation for music, “Joe” was an avid lover of jazz and soul. He often enjoyed testing the musical knowledge of his family by asking them to “guess the group and song” as they listened together.
Joseph’s memory will be lovingly cherished by his sisters: Pearline Middleton and Barbara Middleton, both of Allentown, PA, Genetha Powell (Elaster) of Gaston, North Carolina and all of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Eugenia Middleton; his brothers: Fred, Herbert, Herman, and Prince Middleton; and his sisters: Caretha Brabham and Elizabeth Miller.
Joseph’s life will be remembered for his love of family, music, and quiet wisdom. He will be deeply missed.
