Dorothy Kelley Obituary

Dorothy Alford Kelley was called home to Jesus on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus in Bethlehem, PA with her loved ones by her side.  Born July 26, 1942 in Cuthbert, GA, she was the daughter of the late Willie C. and Lillie Mae (Grays) Alford.

Dorothy (fondly known as Gram and Miss Dot) attended Randolph County Training School in Cuthbert, GA and Easton Area School District. She was a member of the Greater Shiloh Church where she formerly served as a Temple Servant and a member of the Willing Workers Ministry.

For many years Gram was a foster care parent for numerous children in need of a loving home.

Dot and John Kelley shared over 60 years of marriage where they created a beautiful family and memories of their life together. Dot and John resided in Easton, PA but the earlier years in New York raising their children.

After the passing of her mother and father, Dot became the Matriarch of the Kelley and Alford family. She loved with all her heart and was very giving and protective of her loved ones. Dot was a God-fearing woman who stood by her faith and values. She was very stern and structured in her ways and passed these values down to her loved ones, including and not limited to those she encountered.

Gram touched the lives of so many and leaves to cherish her memory her husband John, daughter, Veronica Freeman (John); three sons, Calvin Troy Kelley (Jennifer), Stacey Lynn Kelley (Ada), Anthony Kelley (Gina); ten grandchildren, Chad Alford (Tanesha), Selena Fagan (Derek), Jessica Benitez (William), Troy Kelley, Amanda Slater, Ashley Barber, Lakera Kelley, Genisha Kelley, Alexis Kelley and Jaden Kelley; seventeen great grandchildren: Zarielle, Jelaiya, Zoey, Jazial, Elijah, Camren, Jayden, Daizhun, Taliah, La’Kyah, Miguel, Izabella, Gabriella, Jeremiah, Ra’nyah, Rah’mere and Rome; one great great grandchild: Rahkye; six sisters: Olivia Greenfield, Judy Kelley, Diane Alford, Yolanda Atwood, Connie Jo Alford and Cassandra Alford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Willie Alford and two sisters, Gladys Harris and Polly Allen.
