Cynthia Marie Matt

Cynthia Marie Matt was born on October 27, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Marion Marie Alston and Willie Myron Matt. After a fruitful life of service, the Lord Jesus peacefully called her home on February 21, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Cynthia lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to those she held dear. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1974 and continued her education at Harcum Jr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 2001, she proudly graduated from D.E.E.P. Counseling Institute as a Certified Biblical Counselor, reflecting her commitment to God, dedication to personal growth and desire to help others.

For twenty years, Cynthia demonstrated her outstanding administrative skills in her professional positions as Executive Secretary at AT&T Communications and then Executive Assistant at Lifechurch, Allentown. In 2012, Cynthia started her own business, Simplified Administrative Solutions, LLC, and continued to support individuals, churches and organizations. As the owner and business administrator, she was, in her own words, “Passionate about organization and Persistent to be prepared and driven by High Standards of Excellence.”

Cynthia loved the Lord and her relationship with Christ impacted every area of her life. A loving mother and grandmother, she was devoted to her family and friends, always sharing her faith and giving of herself. Cynthia had a beautiful singing voice, worshipping God in song and blessing others with this gift. She was a living example of God’s love and a treasured friend.

Cynthia will be remembered for her warm heart, compassionate spirit, kindness and generosity she extended to everyone she met. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and spiritual guidance to family and friends alike.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Marie Alston; her father, Willie Myron Matt; her stepfather, Clarence Alston; and her brothers, Latif Matt and Gregory Matt.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Jason Thomas Baker, her daughter, Klovir Leigh Matt; her brother, Barry Matt; her sister, Felecia White; her brother-in-law, Kevin White; her aunt, Bessie Maddox; her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Baker and Nora Baker; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and devoted sister-friends who will continue to honor her memory and legacy.

Though Cynthia has departed from this life, the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
