Charles Jordan Obituary

Charles Edward Jordan aka CJ was the youngest child of the late Deacon Sylvester Jordan and Martha Jordan. He was born on October 20, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York. Charles departed this earthly life for eternal rest on January 8, 2021 in Allentown, PA where he lived with his wife and family.

Charles grew up in Brooklyn with his three siblings Emma (sister), Arlene (sister) and Raymond (brother). He was educated in the NYC Public School system and graduated from James Madison High School. At an early age he accepted Christ and became a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.

Charles had a wonderful, spirited personality and an incredible sense of humor. He loved family BBQ's and playing basketball in the park as a young adult. He was full of joy and laughter from a young child, that is what everyone loved most about him especially his grandmother (the late Emma Jordan). As he grew older, he developed a love for racing when he met Curtis Taylor (Arlene 1st husband). He then started to hangout at the garage with Curtis, his nephews and the boys where they fixed and raced cars.

On August 11, 1983 CJ secured an illustrious career with the NYPD Traffic Division where he ultimately met, fell in love with and married the love of his life Patricia Ann Kenner. Charles started his family with his wife, five daughters and two sons, who he loved and adored as his own until his final breath. Charles remained with the NYPD until he retired in 2018 after serving 35 years.

Charles is preceded in death by his late parents Deacon Sylvester and Martha Jordan. He leaves to cherish his precious memories; His wife Patricia Ann Kenner, five daughters Rochelle Kenner, Roberta Kenner (Derek Grate Sr.), Antionette Wingate (Curtis Wingate), Angela Roy (Wyndell Roy), Britney Kenner and two sons Charles Kenner, Joshua Kenner. Grandchildren Kiondre, Trevaughne, Vynmel, Kristan, Carmello, Tottiannah, Cashmier, Lelani. Sisters Emma Jane Grant, Arlene Monk (John Monk), Raymond Jordan. Nephews Tyrone, Mark and Curtis. Niece Janice and great niece and goddaughter Jessica and a host of other family relatives and friends.

CJ has left his family and friends with countless laughs and memories to cherish.
