Cecile L. (Henry) Harvey

Cecile was born July 5th 1940 in Harlem, New York City. She was the daughter of Samuel Henry and Flora Davis, who raised her with love and a generous spirit. Cecile grew up in Friendship Baptist Church and was involved in many youth activities. As an adult, she moved to Allentown and became a devoted member of St. James AME Zion church and served on the board of trustees. Cecile loved to give back to her community and was involved in Women Unlimited, NAACP, Obsidian Inc., and All American Cultural Center. She traveled the world and instilled faith, kindness, and generosity in her family and all those who loved her.

            Cecile had a long career as a sales and client service consultant with Greyhound and SKF Industries. She loved helping people get what they needed and was very close with many of her co-workers, whom she considered more as friends. Cecile never met a stranger and was called a sweetheart by anyone she met.

            Cecile gave the world two daughters; Cassandra (passed, 2004) and Pamela. She had four grandchildren; Samantha, Reginald, Matthew and Elizabeth. She had five great-grandchildren; Amari, Mekhi, Xander, Aliya and Levi. She leaves her love behind with a host of other extended family and friends.

            A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 26th 2025, 11:00am, at St. James AME Zion Church, 410 Union St., Allentown PA. A repast will follow in the basement of the church. There is a Zoom/Facebook link provided for those not able to attend in person. Cecile would love for those attending to wear pretty colors.

            For those who wish to contribute or donate anything (flowers, food ect.), the family asks instead, that you send that donation to St. James AME Zion Church in honor of Cecile’s generosity.  A link is provided for electronic donations.
