Carol Roundtree Obituary

Carol Ann Roundtree was born December 25th, 1949 in Allentown, PA to the late Louis Bailey Roundtree I and Naomi A. Jay Roundtree. God saw fit to peacefully take her to Glory while in her sleep Monday January 23rd, 2023. Carol was educated in the Allentown Public School System where she attended Garber Horne Elementary School, Harrison Morton Middle School , Louis E Dieruff High School. She continued her education at Cheyney University seeking an Education degree. This is where she met and developed lifelong friendships with those she referred to regularly with deep adoration and respect. She treasured and shared many stories with her family about her endearing moments with Barbara Shepherd-Blake, Sandy “K”, Sayana Mawusi amongst many others. Upon leaving Cheyney, Carol pursued her passion to teach. She had a true compassion for the younger generation. After a short stay in the classroom she realized she would and could better serve families as a whole working within social services so she became a Social Worker in the Philadelphia region for many years. After many years in Philadelphia Carol relocated to Allentown where she helped take care of her Mother. Carol had a dynamic personality and a laugh that was unmatched. She articulated EVERY single sound for diction most times and was one of the BEST when it came to retelling a story or reenacting a real-life scenario. She was gifted with the natural ability to make others laugh and hold their attention. She was not shy for words, had a quick wit, quick comebacks, and would force you to become an in- depth thinker when a more serious dialogue was warranted. Carol was beloved by her cousins. They were more like siblings. She spent endless moments with them and experienced many life trials along side them. Their bonds and priceless memories will be forever cherished. One of her most treasured relationships was produced from a generational connection. Yvonne Kent and Carol were like Thelma and Louise riding together and leaving laughter and chaos in their travels. Carol was very passionate about her family especially her relationships with her Nephews & Nieces. At different stages of their lives each can attest that she was completely focused, aware, saw them, heard them, was completely reliable, held their words close to her heart and was a safe sounding board. She helped to develop and engage them throughout their childhood as preparation for the real world. Many years later she applied the same type of investment into her Great nieces and nephews from afar via Texas and close to home with daily care and love. She took pride in each of their accomplishments and was always open for conversation. She loved each of them deeply. That same type of care was also transferred to the youth of her closest friends and their families, co-workers , (FCT) Full Circle Training Family and local neighbors. She was known as Aunt Carol to ALL. Carol was a wonderful person who will be missed deeply by those with whom she came in contact with. She is survived by her sister Mary ( Roundtree) Davis, brother Louis B. Roundtree II, sister Doris Roundtree, nephew Obatala Roundtree (wife Carmen), niece Naeemah Davis, Nakia Toussaint (husband Ernst), nephew DuShan Roundtree, niece Sirritta Roundtree, Great Nephews: Elijah, Gabrielle Great Nieces: Layla, Eliana “Anna”, Jazzmine And…. A host of dear friends throughout her lifetime. Loving Submitted The Family
