Beverly (Williams) Johnson, born on May 24, 1947, in Fairmont, WV to Robert and Corrine Williams passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Beverly's life was a testament to love, laughter and service.
Beverly graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended Cheney University, Historically Black College and University.(HBCU). Throughout her life, she was known for her love of traveling, sewing, and had an infectious smile and laughter that could light up a room.
Beverly loved her family and as the only girl of 6 children, she was fiercely protected. As an adult, she was determined to forge her own path, moving to Philadelphia, PA and settling in Warminster, PA for several years.
Beverly was a dedicated and active member of her community. She was previously involved with the NAACP and Eastern Star organizations that reflect her commitment to civil rights and community service as well as working on political campaigns. She retired from Muhlenberg College, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Beverly is survived by her beloved daughter, Alina (Johnson) King; grandson, Kalil Johnson; 5 brothers, Robert, Allen, Donald, Kirk, and Michael Williams; Beverly's love also extended to her son in law, Salim King; grandchildren, ShaLynn and Jaheim; great grandson, Jayceon; her second daughters, Kerry Althouse and Candice (Clark) Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much and would will miss her dearly; best friend, Mary Davis, and her extended family and friends.
Beverly's warmth, kindness, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire and comfort those she left behind.
