OBITUARY
Antonia Shell Williams, affectionately known as "Toni" peacefully passed away with her family by her side on June 7, 2022 at Lehigh Valley HospitalMuhlenberg. She was born on June 22, 1943 in Bethlehem PA, the daughter of the late Lilly Shell (Pinckney) and late Othelma Shell.
Antonia was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1961. While at Liberty
HS, she was a member of the varsity field hockey team. Following graduation, Antonia enrolled at Northampton County Community College where she took courses in accounting and business law. She met her husband, Elmer Clyde Williams, in 1962 while she was practicing with her softball team in Saucon Park.
The sparks lit up the sky and Elmer and Antonia were married on September 7, 1963 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Bethlehem, PA. They were married for more than 58 years and at the time of her passing.
Early in her career, Antonia worked at First Valley Bank before securing a job at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for Il years. She retired from Pennsylvania Power and Light (PP&L) in 2008 after 26 years of service. She enjoyed her time there and kept in close contact with her co-workers often attending annual luncheons. She was an active and lifelong member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She served on many committees and clubs, most notably the Pastor's Aide and the Flower Club. Additionally, Antonia served on the board of the JF Goodwin Scholarship Fund. This program supported minority high school graduates throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Antonia's hobbies included the culinary arts, knitting, gardening, and sewing. Her exceptional talents are observed throughout her home. There's a touch of her charm in every room. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Whether entertaining in the home or attending an event, she enjoyed showing her love and support for her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Antonia was predeceased by her beloved siblings Audrey Penn (Walter), Janice Carpenter (Wilbur), and Denwood Shell.
Antonia leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband, Elmer Williams; her sons, Darryl Williams (Nancy Boever) of Bend, Oregon and Courtenay Williams (Cory) of Phoenixville, PA; daughters, JanNean Bradford (Jumanne) of Bowie,
MD and Simone Williams of Bethlehem, PA; nine grandchildren, Deacon
Williams, Madeleine Williams, Jaelynn Bradford, Corissa Brown, Trey Lear, Jade Lear, Zion Bradford, Autumn Bradford, and Brittany Osby; two great grandchildren, Penelope and Leo Tabb; three sisters, Linda Steverson of China Grove, North Carolina, Cynthia Goodman of Washington, D.C., and Nickoline
McKenzie of Covington, GA; three brothers, Stanley Shell (Joan Laselle) of San Francisco, CA, Van Curtis Shell of Atlanta, GA, and Cornelius Shell of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
