Anna L Harris, daughter of the late John and Lula Mae Knight was born on October 12, 1930, in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She was the 2nd eldest daughter of 10 children. She met her eternal mate, the late, Emmitt Harris, Jr.in Oviedo Florida.
Anna lived a life in service to her family and others. She was a servant of God and a dedicated member of St James A.M.E. Zion Church.
She held positions on the local level for the WHOM Missionary Society, Deaconess Board, Class Leader and was a Choir Member. Anna would always place telephone calls and send cards of encouragement to members who were ill and not able to come to church.
Anna worked for B.Braun Medical for 27 years and was awarded “Employee of The Month” in 1996. She led a well-balanced life with family, church, and work and always found time to grow her flowers, listen to Christian and classical music and read Christian and fiction/non-fiction books. Anna was a collector of salt and pepper shakers. Her collection of 75 pairs of shakers was supported by the many children in her life.
Anna Harris departed this life peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by her son, Arthur Lee Tossie, and five siblings: Luther James Knight, Estella Ford, Fannie Ruth Stallworth, Betty Jean Hamilton, and Bertha Lee Knight.
She leaves to treasure her memory, five children Mary Harris -Sicher, Emmitt S. Harris (spouse Barbara), Edward T Harris (spouse Linda), Juanita A. Harris and Angela L. Harris, two sisters, Doshia M. Mitchell (spouse Anthony), Shirley M. Knight – Morris (spouse of the late Cleveland), three brothers John A. Knight (spouse Cherry), Charles E. Knight ( spouse Donna) and Leon W. Knight (spouse Tearia), six grandchildren, Jessica, Bryson, Shyla, Jennifer, Karissa, Bryant, nine great-grandchildren, Jordan, Tynan, Isiah, Troi, AlaLiana, Camila, Hannah, Alivia, Carter, two great great grandchildren, Xander, Annalyse, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
