Sherman Lloyd Dunston, Sr.

Sherman Lloyd Dunston, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, November 27 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was born on January 5, 1948 in Norfolk, VA to the late Lenton and Daisy (Hanson) Dunston. He later went on to work for Mack Trucks for many years as a machinist. He also worked for the Local 1174 Labor Union in Allentown, PA.

Sherman loved life to the fullest. Having a disability never stopped him from doing for himself. He would always say “Why get someone to help me? I can do it myself it just takes me a little bit longer.” He always had a smile on his face even when things were not always going well. He was the guy that just was a pleasure to be around. The type of guy that would give you his last dime or the shirt off his back.

Dad…Remembering you is easy, we do it every day. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away. We love you with all our hearts and souls.

Survivors: Wife, Margaret Anne Dunston; daughter, Vanessa Rena Dunston; son Alvin Dunston; brothers, Lenton, Marvin, Robert, and Clinton Dunston; sister, Dorothy Ward Dunston; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, and a host of family and friends. He was predeceased by a son Sherman L. Dunston, Jr.

Services: 11:00 AM Saturday December 5th at Jesse Johnson Funeral Home located at 426 Hanover Ave., Allentown, PA. Viewing 10:00 AM until 11:00.
