Leonard J. Klonitsko, 65 of McAdoo passed away suddenly early Wednesday morning in Lehigh Valley hospital, Cedar crest.
Born in Hazleton July 20, 1950, he was the son of the late Rose (skotek) and Steve Klonitsko. He was a 1968 graduate of Marian Catholic High School. Lenny joined the U.S. Air Force after graduation, served a tour of duty in Vietnam, and returned home in 1972. He attended Penn State at the Middletown Campus, and later was part owner and manager of Advantage Carpet in Conyngham. Lenny’s smiling face, happy disposition and kindness will be a warm memory in the hearts of those who knew him.
Surviving him are his sons Alex and Brett Klonitsko, former wife Patricia and her husband Robert Stoneback, and his granddaughter Mia Klonitsko who was the light of his life.
Lenny’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 19th between 2 and 5pm at the Macungie Fire Hall.
The family asks that no flowers be sent. Instead, it was Leonard’s wishes that a memorial fund be established in his name for underprivileged figure skaters, in honor of his granddaughter, Mia, whom he loved very much.
Checks should indicate The Lenny Klonitsko Memorial Fund and may be forwarded to The Pinguin Figure Skating Club, Steel Ice Center, 320 E. 1st St., Bethlehem, PA 18015
